At her 45th birthday, Heather Branham looked around the room at her seven children and shared something remarkable: just five years earlier, their family had only two children.

The Lord has had some big plans for the Branhams over these past five years.

Several years ago, Heather and her husband opened their home to a sibling set of three children through foster care, whom they later adopted. Today, they are fostering another sibling set—two young boys. Along with their two biological children, that makes for a wonderfully full house of seven kids.

The Branhams would be the first to tell you they aren't uniquely qualified or especially gifted to do what they do. They simply felt called to open their home and chose to say yes.

And that “yes” has become a thousand smaller yeses.

They work hard to make sure each of their children is known, seen, loved, and given every opportunity to thrive. With seven children, that means a life full of practices, games, appointments, meetings, activities—and getting kids to and from four different schools.

It is beautiful, important work. It is also a lot.

That's one of the reasons Perimeter Village exists. Foster and adoptive families aren't meant to do this alone. We want to surround families like the Branhams with a Village that can help carry some of the practical burdens, encourage them along the way, and faithfully pray for their family.

Their children: Pray that each of the Branham children would know that they are deeply loved, valued, and seen—and that each would continue to grow and thrive.
Their foster children and their family: Pray for wisdom, peace, healing, and God's provision as they navigate the complexities and uncertainties that can come with foster care.

The Branhams' story is a beautiful reminder that God doesn't always call people because they feel perfectly equipped. Sometimes He simply invites ordinary families to make room, trust Him, and say yes.
